Introducing formal training on Sabisu

Over the last few years training on the Sabisu platform has been specifically designed around each customer’s needs. As the platform matures in both capability and user numbers, there have been a significant number of requests for general platform training.

We’re now pleased to offer three levels of Sabisu training:

  • Basic Training, which is suitable for any end-user and introduces the user to the key aspects of the platform.
  • Intermediate Training, which is suitable for power users and Community Administrators as it deals with the platform in a significant level of detail.
  • Advanced or Developer Training, which is suitable for IT professionals seeking to build applications using the platform.

While our preference is always to work with you face to face, training can be carried out remotely via web conference.

Training can be requested by emailing

Let’s look at these in more detail.

Basic Training

This is typically conducted on a 1:1 basis at an end-user’s desk and should take at most an hour, though in most cases it can be done in around 30-40mins.

The objective is to leave the end-user able to use all the key functionality within Sabisu to it’s full extent.

Users will learn to:

  • Identify and use Sabisu interface components
  • Publish data from MS Excel (if relevant)
  • Create, allocate, respond and complete Actions
  • Use collaboration tools, including Notes and Chat
  • Respond when the platform alerts the user to take action
  • Request changes or feedback on reports

Intermediate Training

This is usually a classroom session and is at least a full day.

The objective is to give users more in-depth knowledge of the key platform components and how they might manage their implementation.

Users will learn to:

  • Create new Communities, invite users & configure Community Pages
  • Control access to data, pages and change user permissions
  • Approve Publications from MS Excel for consumption by Communities
  • Recognise key Sabisu architectural components and how they are related

In addition implementation specific training may be delivered. For example, users may be trained on:

  • Creating and editing formulae in the Simple or Advanced Calc Editor
  • Creating and editing KPIs in the KPI Manager
  • Using Sabisu Publisher to process MS Excel data for trending and visualisation

Advanced and/or Developer Training

This is usually a 1:1 and is delivered over several days.

The objective is to give users more in-depth knowledge of the key platform components and how they might manage their implementation.

The precise content of the training is dependent on the implementation and the users being trained.

For example, Advanced users may be trained to:

  • Construct new widgets using Sabisu Builder
  • Use external libraries in the Advanced Calc Editor for non-linear or advanced statistical calculations

For example, Development teams may be trained to:

  • Configure Sabisu Data Objects for data source access
  • Create new Widget components
  • Implement Widgets in line with Sabisu platform standards
  • Use $formulae to access platform properties
  • Map processed MS Excel data into widgets for specific visualisations
  • Use Sabisu APIs to communicate to/from existing applications
